We love it when great local shows get the love they deserve. Rockville was one of the greatest surprises on TV and showcased the acting skills of some of SA's finest, including Connie and Shona Ferguson, Luthuli Dlamini, Bonnie Mbuli and surprisingly, Boity Thulo.
The show, which is head written by Phathu Makwarela, has been renewed for a second season and will be making a return on our screens in a few months time.
This is great news for local TV and also for Mzansi Magic, which continues to commission great TV dramas. Now if only SABC would the same.
Choosing to celebrate Generations' 20th anniversary months earlier is not a good move. While we appreciate the nolstagia, commissioning a new local show would've been so much better.
