|Jennifer in a scene from The Client List with co-star, Loretta Devine.|
Sad news for all Jennifer Love Hewitt fans. The Client List, which was aired on SABC 3 earlier this year, has been cancelled. The show, which was busy with the pre-production of the third season, was cancelled by Lifetime last week.
According to reports by Deadline and TVLine, the producers and Lifetime were in a stand off with Hewitt over the direction of the story. Hewitt is currently pregnant with her fiance and co-star, Brian Hallisay's baby. TVLine reported that Hewitt, wanted to have Hallisay's character, Riley Parks be the father. But then the producers didn't like that, came to a standoff with Hewitt. They clearly didn't know how to handle the pregnancy on the show.
If you missed it earlier this year, here's the premise for the show:
The series follows Riley Parks ( Hewitt), who begins work in a day spa in a local town after her husband abandons her and their children, leaving her in financial debt. She quickly realizes that the spa gives much more than massages, but works with the parlor's owner (Devine) in order to keep food on the table. While helping to run the business, she struggles to discreetly balance two lives – a single mother who must provide for her family and a strong businesswoman working in a unique and frowned-upon business.
The show was originally a Lifetime movie.
