13th Metro FM Music Awards- The Winners and Best Moments

Mafikizolo, who won three awards at the 13th Metro FM Music Awards
The 13th Metro FM Music Awards took place on Saturday at the Durban ICC. Hosted by RGB's Phat Joe and Live AMP! and Isidingo's Pearl Thusi, they were mostly a triumph.

While they had great chemistry, thanks to working together on RGB and Metro FM, they started on rough footing, but they soon gained momentum and in the end, it was a solid effort from both of them.

But the stars of the show were the performers who mostly impressed. Here's our list of the best musical moments on the show

1. Kwaito Tribute: 20 years of kwaito music on one stage! How excellent was this? It was just too short though. Seeing kwaito legends likeTrompies, TKZee's Magesh, Mandoza, Thebe, Zola and Unathi, Professor, on stage was great. It took us back to the good old days of kwaito. But what a pity that Ishmael was not invited to perform at the awards, that time his song with Skeem- Waar Was Jy- was the central song to the whole tribute!

2. Uhuru- My word! We've never danced so much. That guy who leads the vocals, in the dreadlocks? The whole media section was standing up, dancing along to Y-Tjukutja like it was nobodies business! That's how great it was.

3. Mafikizolo: Pure class! Pure talent! Amazing musicians and performers!

4. AKA, Da Les, Big Nuz, DreamTeam ft. Tamarsha: We loved it! Heaven was great, but Tsekede was on ANOTHER level!

5. Zakes Bantwini, Phuzekhemisi and Lvovo: Need we say more? A maskandi legend with new music legends, Zakes and Lvovo. On one stage. Life.

6. Mi Casa: We love Mi Casa. They deliver everytime and for that, we appreciate them!
