Top Billing and Clash of the Choirs presenter, Bonang Matheba, is on two covers this month- the lad mag Maxim SA and the fashion forward art magazine, Dossier. The self-proclaimed "Queen of ALL media" can once again boast about a first in her career.
Dossier is a very avante-garde magazine, with a high LSM target. It's a quarterly and is one of the best art, lifestyle and fashion magazines in the country. Dossier's covers are always artistic, with the focus not no the cover star, but the cover is always a reflection of the theme of the issue. This issue is a special 3D issue. Some of the stars who have featured on their covers, include Tarina Patel, Tamara Dey, Jena Dover. It really has some of the most amazing and artistic covers we've seen in local magazines.
Maxim is one of the most popular lad mags in the world. It's Hot List is as important as FHM's (and People's Hottest Male and Most Beautiful Person) list. The local edition of the magazine, launched late last year and Bonang Matheba is the first black celebrity to be on the cover.
Maxim has done a great job of putting local ladies on their covers. The only international star they've had on the cover, was Eva Longoria. Their launch issue had Lee-Ann Liebenberg, followed by Melinda Bam, Jeannie D, Tayla Davis and now Bonang Matheba.
Congrats to her for once again proving that she has crossover appeal and that she indeed IS South Africa's Queen of ALL media (she's on TV, radio, print and with a massive online following).
