The Return of SABC 1's One Day Leader

SABC 1 just announced that they have renewed the popular show, One Day Leader, where some of South Africa's youngest leaders get to battle it out for the title of One Day Leader.

The show sees potential future leaders do various activities and situations, where their leadership skills are tested. They are then given a topic and have to prepare a convincing argument (public speaking skills) and then have to debate with their fellow contestants.

It's a very popular show and two seasons, was hosted by Masechaba Lekalake. There's no word on whether she'll return to host the show, especially since she now hosts a talk show on e.tv and eKasi+, Ekse: Let's Talk with Masechaba.

So if you're keen to enter, or know someone who has great leadership skills and you'd like them to enter, here are further details.
  • A young person between 18 and 25 who has what it takes to make a difference.
  • Must have a South African green bar coded ID book.
  • Must have personalities that are suitable for national television.
  • Must be actively involved in a project that contributes directly to community development and/or nation building and have a portfolio of evidence for work and contributions done under this project.
  • An understanding of the English language is beneficial as studio debates are conducted in English.
  • Must be available between June 2014 and September 2014.
