TV and radio presenter, Bonang Matheba, is returning to her radio show next month.

According to a statement released by the SABC, the presenter will be back on her mid-morning show, The Front Row, on Metro FM from Monday, 11 August 2014.

In the statement, it is stated that the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and Matheba have, after careful consideration regarding her recent brief departure at the SABC reached an agreement that she will soon rejoin the SABC.

She was reportedly fired from the station after she took up a TV presenting job on DStv's Supersport channel during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. According to reports, her expulsion from the SABC owned station because of breach of contract.

Her contract has been now reinstated and she will be back as the co-host of The Front Row from 09h00 to 12h00 on weekdays, from Monday 11 August 2014. Both parties have reiterated the terms of the contract and the importance of maintaining a healthy working relationship.

In the agreement between the public broadcaster and Matheba, she has had to "unreservedly withdraw all her public statements made with regards to her departure prior to the FIFA 2014 World Cup. "

“The SABC would like to welcome back Ms. Matheba and accepts her apology. Our aim as broadcaster is not to destroy our talent but to nurture and help young people to grow in this challenging industry. We respect their craft and are willing to assist where we can” said SABC Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

Matheba said: "I am thrilled to re-engage my long standing relationship with the SABC.  The support I have received from the listeners and viewers has been overwhelming, and for that I am grateful. I look forward to an aligned future plan with the SABC, doing what I love as I spearhead my business plan. It’s an exciting time head”.
